    • Can I improve strength by doing more weights with the help of a friend? Etc, normally I do olympic bench about 20kg, with a spotter helping, I can hit 30kg albeit between 5 to 7 reps only instead of the usual 10

    • Yesterday I went to school gym, I asked this guy to help me, he didn't really use much force, except supporting me when I cannot push anymore and helping me put the well back, perhaps keeping it stable?

    • if you want a spotter,he should only be helping you at the last rep with the least amount of force,or just to help you put the bar back.

if the spotter were to help you from the start, its becomes the senario of muscle fibers being shared by 2 people.

    • spotter should not have his palm or hand on the bar as he is meant to be a safety precaution unless u really cant lift the bar up

    • In the gym, there are 101 reasons why a spotter or an assistant is very important. One of the reason is it gives you the confidence to go heavy. And to the point of fatigue, when lifting the weight for an additional few more reps becomes impossible, a spotter helps you to squeeze abit more in turn break down a few more muscle fibers and increase your muscle growth.
